Cambridge company celebrates £575,000 of new orders
A Cambridge company is celebrating ending the year with more than half a million pounds worth of new orders.
Kershaw Contracting Services based in Cottenham has won a major contract to install insulation in around 1,300 properties for Harlow District Council.
Together with five other new contracts, it totals about £575,000 of new orders.
The central heating, asbestos removal and domestic insulation company is part of the city’s famous Kershaw Group.
Managing director Mick Rayson said: “What a great way to end the year. This has been a tough sector to operate in over the last few months, but we have worked hard and stayed focused, and we are starting to see that pay off with impressive orders such as these.”
The new contracts include:
• New cavity wall insulation and loft insulation for houses, on behalf of Harlow District Council, worth just under £500,000
• Insulation in properties belonging to Apollo Housing in Kensington and Chelsea, worth £24,000
• Insulation in properties being built by Persimmon Homes in Hampton Hargate, Peterborough, worth £14,000
• Insulation in properties belonging to St Pancras Housing Association in London, worth £19,000
• Insulation in properties on behalf of Uttlesford District Council, worth £19,000
Kershaw Contracting Services is a division of the Cambridge-based Kershaw Group.
It was recently rewarded for its long-term commitment to excellent health and safety by being accepted into the exclusive SAFEcontractor programme.
Parts of the Kershaw Group have a history stretching back 120 years. It employs 183 people and is well known for its involvement in the community.
