Cottenham company sees increase in insulation sales for new homes
A Cottenham company has fitted £100,000 of insulation in a series of new contracts – including new build homes.
Kershaw Contracting Services was awarded three contracts in one week.
“It’s great to be fitting insulation into new build homes again,” said managing director Ian Macklin.
“The new build market has understandably been depressed for the last 12 to 18 months.
“But we are starting to see a number of orders come in now. Our analysts are becoming increasingly confident that the market will start to pick up again as we go further into 2010.”
The contracts won by Kershaw Contracting Services in one week were:
• Loft insulation in new builds in High Street, Over, Cambridgeshire, for contractor Cocksedge
• Loft insulation in new builds in Saffron Walden, also for Cocksedge
• Spray insulation foam for an industrial building in Daventry, Northamptonshire
Kershaw Contracting Services has decades of experience in insulation and new boiler installations for homeowners and new home developers.
As well as central heating systems and fitting cavity wall insulation and loft insulation, the company specialises in the safe removal of asbestos.
It is a division of the Cambridge-based Kershaw Group.
Parts of the Kershaw Group have a history stretching back 120 years. It employs around 200 people and is well known for its involvement in the community.
