University campus closed in asbestos scare
Thames Valley University in Berkshire was forced to close down its Crescent Road campus in Reading because of a risk of asbestos.
Preliminary survey work on the building revealed a possible presence of the material, leading to a week-long closure for further investigation.
Lectures, evening classes and many other services were moved to the Kings Road site and parents of children who go to a nursery that shares the site have been contacted to discuss other options for their children.
It is unclear at this time what the outcome of the further investigation work was.
Kershaw Contracting Services has decades of experience in asbestos removal, including in sensitive areas such as schools.
