Council refused to clear up dumped asbestos
A council has been criticised after it initially refused to clear up a pile of asbestos that was dumped in a road.
The Nottingham Evening Post newspaper reported that a shopkeeper phoned the council after fly tippers dumped the dangerous substance at the back of shops.
But it’s alleged that the council said it wouldn’t remove it as the road was private.
The council later agreed to remove the asbestos. It is now asking for anyone with any information about the people who dumped it to come forward.
Kershaw Contracting Services specialises in asbestos removal.
