Heating firm fined for exposing workers to asbestos
A heating company in Scotland was fined after its workers were exposed to asbestos during renovations of a church.
The company’s workers had been in the church for five days before the deadly substance was discovered.
It is reported that asbestos was found in a previous survey of the building, but the company had not requested this report.
The company, Lothian Heating Services, pleaded guilty to breaching health and safety legislation, and was fined £8,000 by Edinburgh sheriff court.
