Tories plan green scheme to reduce fuel bills by £360 a year
The Tories have unveiled a £2.5 billion Green Deal plan they would use to boost energy efficiency if they got into power.
It would cut up to £360 a year from household energy bills by allowing trusted retailers to join councils in carrying out insulation programmes.
The idea is that the insulation firm would put in an investment of £1,500, and would be repaid with a share of the savings using the regular fuel bill.
The Green Deal will create at least 3,500 apprenticeships and cover homes where energy improvements are currently difficult to finance.
And the Energy Saving Trust believes the CO2 savings across the country could be 9.4million tonnes if the least efficient homes are insulated.
Kershaw Contracting Services provides cavity wall and loft insulation to home owners, builders and contractors.
