£84m scheme to put cavity wall insulation in social housing stock
The Homes and Communities Agency has launched a new £84 million scheme to put cavity wall insulation into social housing properties
The money will be shared among 46 different areas of the UK as part of the Social Housing Energy Saving Programme.
50 bids were made for money and 46 were successful. They include 14 local authorities, 16 registered social landlords, and 20 Arms Length Management Organisations.
Work is starting this summer on more than 100,000 properties.
Housing is acknowledged to be responsible for a quarter of carbon emissions.
