London Borough of Bexley: Thames Road Depot, Crayford
During April 2011 Kershaw Contracting Services undertook an asbestos removal project at the Thames Road building in Crayford.
The project entailed the removal of the boiler room windows and associated asbestos containing materials under fully controlled conditions.
A site specific scaffold system was erected prior to works commencing, which formed part of the working enclosure.
The scaffold and associated areas of the boiler room were sheeted and placed under negative pressure in order to remove the asbestos.
The asbestos removal works were undertaken whilst the building remained occupied without disruption.
Orders have already been placed for further works to be undertaken next month at Thames Road Depot.
