Axiom Housing Association provides a broad range of rented housing throughout the counties of Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire and currently manages around 2000 homes.
Kershaw Contracting Services approached Axiom Housing with a view to providing specialist surveying services. Following an initial review of their asbestos management processes, key areas were identified where we could assist them in getting more from their existing asbestos information.
The Association wanted to continue using the database they currently use for asbestos surveys, and were keen to continue using it to for all new surveys.
Kershaw proposed developing a data capture sheet, with an algorithm system, similar to the one already used. The data would be translated via a data-dump system, meaning the Association could produce copies of the reports as required.
In addition to the database work, Kershaw has agreed to implement a programme to survey 250 dwellings. The programme will be completed in April 2010. The following programme will cover reinspections of all surveyed properties, as part of Axiom’s ongoing asbestos management policies.
Kershaw Contracting Services will continue to provide Axiom with help and advice and also provide removal services when required.
